ABOUT US | GARY ALBAUGH

Gary Albaugh joined MicroTheory Engineering in January 2024 as the Vice President of Innovation and Development and has been working with the team at MicroTheory Engineering to expand their engineering and professional services to include a variety of capabilities in the educational spaces that include K-12, higher education, libraries, museums, teaching hospitals, and any youth/community organization with an educational vision/mission. Before joining the MicroTheory Engineering Team, Gary had a 20+ year career in military and civilian service serving his Country and the federal government.

Gary enlisted in the United States Army for eight years as an Information Systems Operator/Analyst. His Army decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award), Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver – Wheeled Vehicle Clasp.

Gary continued his service to his country and transitioned to the Department of Defense Civilian Workforce as the Deputy Director at the Network Enterprise Center – Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, New York, and later as the Deputy – Chief Information Officer/G6 at the United States Military Academy at West Point.  Gary oversaw the strategy and acquisitions planning efforts as the Workgroup Leader for the Acquisition Strategy for Higher Education Institutions for the Department of Defense Academic Information Technology Consortium (DAITC), Chair of the Joint Service Academy Computing Consortium (JSACC), and Chair of the United States Army Higher Education Consortium (AHEC).  His Civilian decorations include the Civilian Service Commendation Medal and the Superior Civilian Service Medal (2nd award).

Gary’s education started with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a Minor in Marketing from Marist College.  He has since completed a Master of Science in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University, and a Master of Arts in American Military History from American Military University and holds various certifications from CompTIA, AVIXA and other accredited organizations.   He has three wonderful children, Jacob (18), Brandon (16), and Kaitlyn (13) as well as a loving fiancée, Denise, and a family puppy, Reesie. He spends his spare time volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, the Newtown Historical Association, and other community and veteran organizations.
