Goran Mrkoci joined MicroTheory Engineering as a minority partner and Executive Vice President in March 2022.  Goran is a distinguished senior-level executive renowned for his career at the nexus of cutting-edge technology, systems architecture, and executive leadership. Goran brings extensive experience as a senior manager overseeing a substantial portfolio of contracts valued at approximately $150 million across government agencies and the commercial sector.

As a transformative force, Goran led the modernization efforts of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAAs) Voluntary Safety Reporting Program, enhancing non-punitive safety systems through infrastructure modernization and software refresh initiatives. Managing over 180,000 individual safety aviation events, he supported safety trend identification and analysis. Goran developed and marketed proactive and predictive safety risk management solutions, showcasing his unwavering commitment to innovation and advanced analytics tools.

At the forefront of Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen), a large-scale FAA initiative to modernize the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS), Goran has supported projects like the Common Support Services – Flight Data (CSS-FD) where he drove impactful contributions by delivering in-depth white papers on pre-flight plan communications and messaging structures for the NAS.

Goran has over 20 years of experience supporting the FAA in both technical and managerial roles in transformative programs such as Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM), and Extensible Traffic Management (xTM). Goran exhibits a steadfast commitment to advancing autonomous operations and facilitating the entry of new vehicles into the NAS.

Goran holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland. His dedication to excellence is further underscored by his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
